About
What are Family Resource Centers?
Early Start Family Resource Centers, staffed by
families of children with special needs, are
California's Part C of the Individuals with
Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) program.
Part C provides early intervention service systems
for infants and toddlers with or at risk for
disabilities, and their families. Family support is
part of this system.
Mission
To promote, expand and share available resources
with families that have children with special
health care needs and / or other disabilities in
Los Angeles County.
FRCNLAC Membership
The FRCNLAC is a coalition of 13 (thirteen)
Family Resource Centers in Los Angeles county as
well are also part of a statewide network.
FRCNLAC meets on the 2nd Friday of each
month. We welcome other parent support
organizations or professionals who provide Early
Start services to be part of our monthly meetings.
These meetings are designed to disseminate
information about parent support activities,
discuss collaborative projects around
family-centered care, and increase the
effectiveness of early intervention services across
the county of Los Angeles for families with young
children. Please contact your local FRC for
information or to join our listserve.
